Jafar Kalantari has spent many years training in Taekwondo in places from Iran to Scotland and has a wealth of knowledge that he is eager to share and pass on to students of all abilities.His classes are serious but fun and will put all practitioners to the test.
Throughout his life, Jafar has always enjoyed engaging in sport and always had a keen interest and has felt very passionate when it comes to the practical and theoretical work concerning sport coaching and Physical activities.
Jafar is very aware of the importance of exercise and the related issues of diet and fitness on the prevention of injury in the human body.
Jafar has been involved in sport for most of his life. He started Taekwondo at the age of 14 and experienced competing at a national level and coaching other athletes on a class and one to one basis. (In IRAN)
He has achieved his 1st Dan black belt in Iran (1992)and various gold medals, most noteworthy for the city of Tehran and a few other medals in the UK, in the National TTA championship, (Traditional Taekwondo Association) in Scotland.
He trained with Master Andy Hill (Pilsung Taekwondo Club-Sheffield) from 2005.
Studying at Sheffield Hallam University in Sport and Exercise Science increased Jafar’s academic knowledge and helped him to understand every individual’s physical needs, capacity and the safest way to train them.He has developed his sporting knowledge by researching about coaching techniques and using a holistic approach to all his sporting endeavours.
Jafar is going back to the university in September 2019 to study further in MSc Advanced Sport Coaching Practice at Sheffield Hallam University which will help him in his Sport Coaching journey.
